Translation and Interpreter Services

The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) has translation and interpreter services available for applicants and recipients of covered DPH services and members of the public for public hearings. If you speak a language other than English or need alternate means of communication, such as sign language or large print, please notify the staff at your local health department, a representative from the program you are seeking services from, or the contact person listed on the Agency's Public Notice. If there are any problems in obtaining the requested services, please notify the Bureau of Community Health Services at (803) 429-5401.

Nondiscrimination

DPH is prohibited from discriminating against applicants for, and recipients of, covered DPH services based on age, disability, veteran status, race, color, sex, pregnancy, religion, genetic information, national origin, gender identity, or sexual orientation. DPH supports and abides by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regarding employment, public services, and public facility accommodations. DPH's intent is to provide equal access to its services and employment opportunities.

If you have any complaints relating to the services or facilities at any of our locations, please use the Discrimination Complaint Form (D-2780) and email your complaint form to compliance@dph.sc.gov. You can also submit a written copy of your complaint to any employee at your local DPH office. If you have questions about DPH's nondiscrimination statement or need assistance filing a complaint, contact the Agency's Compliance Office at (888) 843-3718.
