8/23/2024 | Unintentional CO Poisoning | New Data | The list of ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes used to generate unintentional carbon monoxide deaths for 2018-2022 (i.e. T58) were further refined to exclude codes for deaths due to purposeful intent: X60-Y09, Y35, and Y36. This update aligns with current literature on this topic. As a result, the total number of deaths for 2018-2022 on the Unintentional CO Poisoning Mortality in South Carolina graph increased by 3. All prior years follow this guideline and are accurate as reported. |
