Upstate SHAPE Initiative
The Upstate Sexual Health Awareness, (STI) Prevention, and Education Initiative, or SHAPE, was formed in 2017 in response to rising STD rates across Greenville County and the Upstate region of South Carolina. The coalition originally focused its efforts on Greenville County but has since expanded its reach to all eleven counties of the Upstate Public Health Region. SHAPE members represent several agencies throughout the counties who serve a wide range of individuals at risk for acquiring STDs.
Upstate SHAPE regularly hosts speakers, discusses the latest STD rates in the region, and provides information and resources to the community. If you would like to be involved with SHAPE please contact Zoie Miller, Community Engagement Specialist, at millerzc@dph.sc.gov to be added to the mailing list.
